New product development

A development kitchen and a production plant on the same site. We take an idea, a competitor sample or a chef's recipe and turn it into something that can be made at scale, consistently, to specification.

Questions

Frequently asked

Usually. Send the sample and the price point you need to hit. We reverse-engineer the formulation, then tell you honestly what can be matched and what would need a different cost base.
Initial development against a clear brief is normally carried at our cost where there is a realistic route to production. Beyond three trials, or where a project needs extended shelf-life or sensory work, we agree a development fee up front.
Yes, at Whiston — alongside the production plant, so a bench recipe and a plant trial are metres apart rather than months apart.
6 pallets. That is one production slot, and it is the point below which a run costs more in changeover than it produces in stock.
Set out in writing before development starts. Recipes you bring stay yours; recipes we develop for you are covered by the development agreement.
